Model NS250-10 Nanosecond Event Detector was designed to comply
with the guidelines of EIA-364-87 & ASTM B878-97 to detect for
dynamic resistance changes due to FRETTING corrosion action
between contacts during vibration and or shock.
After careful review of the requirements for high speed detection
methods, 1 10 channel test system was designed using discreet
components instead of ECL logic elements as the most reliable means of event sensing.
The components were mounted in a shielded aluminum box along with
calibration threshold adjustments and a 5.0 VDC 100mA test current
source. By using a bulkhead SMA input connector, various lengths of
flexible SMA cables along with mated wire terminations allows for
attachment to contacts under test with minimal noise interference and flexibility of connections during test motion.
Five LED'S per channel are used to either BLINK ON/OFF or LATCH
Iin response to a single event that is sensed by any channel that
equals or exceeds the selected EVENT THRESHOLD LIMIT.
